Business Litigation

Collection of Judgments
Occasionally a litigant obtains a successful judgment but is unable to collect it because the judgment debtor becomes insolvent. It may be that the judgment debtor has transferred assets, or paid other creditors in a manner that still leaves those assets subject to the judgment.
Our attorneys are skilled in handling cases involving judgments against companies or individuals without assets, but who are affiliated with companies that do have assets. The legal issues in such cases include fraudulent transfers, fraudulent conveyances, preferences, piercing the corporate veil, alter ego, bulk sales, and successor liability.
